Alex Bevan is so much a staple artist of Cleveland he has water of the Cuyahoga River flowing through his veins. He has never paid for a drink in The Flats nor gone unnoticed at The Agora. He is one of the few who have turned his drinking problem into a lifetime salary. I know I've helped him along many times over the last 40+ years, most recently last month at a house party in Kent.

He plays and sings a lot of great folk songs but "Skinny" is the one that put him on the map. He got his first break when WMMS FM invited him on air in 1977 to sing with what he called "Alex Bevan and the Buzzard Band" with DJ Matt The Cat on guitar. This is that performance:
