Loved that release. Played that to the heavens in my 1971 VW Bug with a Clarion auto-reverse deck, flea market power booster, and Jensen speakers. I know I have the CD hiding somewhere and possibly the vinyl.

Fantastic first album. The second album was also terrific.
I started to lose interest when Knopfler bought a distortion pedal.
His style doesn't lend itself to high gain. The distinctiveness of his playing got lost.
My wife & I saw them on the Communique tour. Out of shear luck, we got 6th row center seats at The Iptown Theater in Chicago.
Oh, and welcome to DU.

They did the full album.

Of course, Sultans was the highlight.

Knopfler has always been one of my favorite guitarists. His phrasing and restraint in his playing is one thing that makes him so good.
Been a fan since .
