(3,678 posts)This is a group for socialists. If your local public library announces a Jane Austen appreciation night and you think Pride and Prejudice is shit and the people who love it are awful, there are very few good and honest reasons for you to attend.
You know your intentions. I don't. The group hosts will have to make inferences based on what you have to say and how you present it. If you're not here to be deliberately hostile, I don't think there's much reason to worry. Besides, the worst possible consequences (being blocked from further posts in this one particular group) are trivial.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
