NORMAL, Ill. -- Monday was the last day for hundreds of workers at the closing Mitsubishi plant in Normal.

Mitsubishi Motors announced in July they would close the plant, forcing about 1,200 workers out of a job.

The automaker said it will move the plant overseas because of a drop in sales in the United States.

The laid off workers gathered Monday at the union hall to remember decades they spent together at the plant.
