First, my usual spiel about how neither Musk or Thiel had anything to do with it when DU started using it -- Musk got fired in the late 90s, and I think Thiel left in 2003. When we started using it, PayPal was owned by Ebay, and it is now a public company.

However, lately PayPal has been making it really hard for people to pay without creating a PayPal account, so we have finally begun to look for additional methods. Currently, you can make a payment here, using many different methods:

It will work, and you'll get your Star Membership updated -- the catch is that it isn't automated yet, so I have to be notified of the payment, and then manually update your Star Membership, which is why this isn't advertised as an option yet. We are currently working on getting it integrated into the current Star Membership system.

My zombified PayPal account has now generated three payments to DU. DU says go through PayPal, PayPal says do it through your billed service.
