14. I've had Afib for a few years, and it went nuts after I had appendicitis.

I was in the hospital for nearly a week. 4 different meds every day. 2 attempts at external cardioversion did nothing. One evening, I thought there was some sort of vibratory/massage unit attached to the bed because it was shaking. Turned out I was the reason the bed was shaking because my heart rate was 170. Finally ended up with an ablation, which took care of it. I was somewhat anxious about the ablation beforehand, but it was uneventful and I would have no hesitation if I ever needed another.

I hope you feel all better very soon.

If I had any hearts left, I'd give you one. Here's a cyber hug instead -

I have a relative who has AFIB. It was controlled by a successful ablation, but they have to take blood thinners now for the remainder of their life.

You are correct in that it can be a royal pain.

Wishing you all the very best. i hope you can get a good night's sleep tonight. Sleep is the best medicine there is!
