(12,125 posts)I don't know the difference between redwoods and sequoias but both are nature's amazing glory. I hope to see at least one of them in person one day.
I love the elephants too!

(7,266 posts)Is heading into its 3rd year. Currently 15 cm tall.
I'm hoping to live long enough to see it hit 15 to 20 meters.
Should it live, I plan on planting it in a park near me. I would like to see it outgrow the regular trees and have people see it, recognize it, and go , how did that get here! I'm in Munich.
Marthe48
(23,441 posts)I got seeds and a growing kit from someone 40+ years ago. None of the seeds sprouted.
Sounds like your tree got a good start
Old Crank
(7,266 posts)I planted one of them, close to twenty seeds. Really, really tiny, according to the directions. 24 hrs water soak then in the fridge for a month. 5 or 6 sprouted. Only one has survived. I have another packet to try.

(23,441 posts)Some trees only release seeds, or the seeds only sprout, if they've been exposed to fire. Read that many years ago.

(23,441 posts)It uprooted and fell right before Christmas. They got a boatload of lights and decorated it where it lay. They'll get it removed after Christmas. If life hands you lemons, put some lights on it!
Thanks for the picture. All of our pets were merciful this year

(702 posts)reminds me of my Crash, also a calico, who licked every single cookie on the cooling rack. Offered her one of her own to lick but she wasn't interested. Only the entire batch satisfied her.

(1,760 posts)My favorite story about my cats and food was about my cat Osie when he was a kitten. I baked one of those Funfetti cakes in a large
cake pan for Halloween. Left the cake to cool on the counter before icing and came back in the kitchen to find Osie sitting in the
middle of the cake. Perfect butt print of my kitten! Needless to say the cake got tossed.
