No Friday Night drinking thread tonight. At least, not with me as host.

Our office Christmas party is tonight, and I won't likely get home until after 8pm PST. Probably a lot of Loungers will be in bed by then.

Still, come what may, I love you all...

But just one. I have to be able to drive home. And the trip includes a drive across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. So I have to stay sharp.

know what a fountain of knowledge you are in regards to cocktails? Will your employer consult with you on what beverages to serve tonight?

They should all be tapping into this mixology brilliance!

Enjoy!

They called me "Manhattan" when they discovered that this is my favorite cocktail. Coolest nickname I've ever had.

The subject hasn't come up among my new colleagues yet.

Billet’s whiskey and bitters over a square ice cube after the rim of the glass was wiped with a fresh cut orange peel. A cherry was then wrapped with that orange peel, secured with a tooth pick, and dropped into the glass.

Yummy sipping.

Cheers 🥃

Every mixologist has a different idea as to the mix of ingredients, and which is the most important. One of my favorite bartenders insists that you can have the best bourbon and other ingredients in the world. But if the sugar content is not just right, your Old Fashioned will be a failure. He makes a convincing case; his Old Fashions are sublime.

He was a veteran & will be interred in the Georgia National Cemetery. RIP Stan. Gone too soon...only 62. I'm hoisting one in his honor tonight.
