Goat 'read its rights' in the back of a cop car after being found on the side of the road in Texas

A goat in Texas has found out what it means to be on the wrong side of the law.

The male goat was found grazing on the side of a major road in Little Elm, Texas, happy as a clam.

Goats in Texas are typically either farming goats or escaped domestic goats that have become wild, so the police officer who found the animal knew he had to do something about it.

Bodycam footage shared by the Little Elm Police Department showed the moment the officer spotted the goat roadside and began talking to it. "Hey! Where do you live?" the cop asked as an opener. The goat continued grazing unbothered, but did look up at the policeman to see what the fuss was about.

The officer then tried "showing" the goat how "cool" his car was, in an effort to get the goat to climb into the back of the vehicle of his own volition.

At first, the farm animal seemed very interested in the front seat situation, with the cop slightly panicking that he was going to climb in.
