Have a wonderful time. My Dad had the no politics or religion rule too. Apparently my Grandfather, who passed away before I was born, and my Grandmother, who died when I was five, used to fight a lot about politics, and my Dad said it bothered him. My Grandfather was a Republican, my Grandmother was a Democrat. When my half brother, commented that my sister must have inherited a talent for cooking from Grandma, I said I probably didn't inherit anything. My Dad replied, "Yes you did! You're as obsessed with politics as she was. " That made me smile.
