Just solved today's Wordl and then noticed that suddenly my current streak is 1. I didn't lose or miss playing recently. Checked the archive to make sure I didn't forget to play yesterday. I didn't forget. Could this maybe have something to do with that internet outage that happened yesterday?

(39,429 posts)1. The same thing happened to me yesterday.
I'm going to try the Report a Bug feature and see if that helps.

I sent a bug report. Am waiting to see if they can restore my current streak number.

I just checked mine and it was't reset. Then I went into "incognito mode/private browsing" and it did look like I was playing for the first time.

Nationwide and overseas. May have affected the Wordle system.
What we know about what caused Amazon Web Services outage
The AWS outage on October 21, 2025, was caused by a DNS issue within AWS's DynamoDB service, which affected the Domain Name System (DNS) that helps apps find the correct server addresses. This led to a chain reaction, causing many services to fail, including banking apps, gaming platforms, and smart home devices. The outage was centered in AWS's US-EAST-1 data center region, which is one of its most important cloud hubs. The outage was resolved by 5:24 a.m. ET, but not before millions of requests failed and backups formed.

If the system Wordle is run on was impacted, it may have lost the stored past activity.
Just guessing.
