I guess I can't take these pain pills anymore for my back pain.
Had the hiccups all night. All night! Also had trouble swallowing, and my face was beet red. I tried all of the remedies for hiccups, but nothing worked. They seem to be gone now, and my skin tone is back to normal.
I looked it up, and it looks like those are possible reactions to opiates.
That's why I hate opiates. I always get some weird reaction. Some of that reaction may also be due to the Prednisone. Both the opiates and the Prednisone should be mostly out of my system by now.
Fortunately, the pain is a little better this morning. I'm crossing all my fingers hoping this will get better, so I can get some work done.

I hope all is well with you.

(22,044 posts)I hope you can find something else as I hear you re: these drugs.
Some help and other do not.
I managed to get the local pharmacy that delivers to get my old medication back so I'm looking forward to getting rid of the crap they gave me as a substitute in Jan. due to "no longer available" status.
I hope you feel better very soon!
Take care!

(22,307 posts)In fact it was Friday night. I didn't even take a nap yesterday but I slept like a log last night.
Opiates will make it harder to fall asleep and they are constipating. Drugs are wonderful but they always have unintended effects.
I hope you have no more hiccups and get a good night's sleep tonight.

(4,093 posts)you can get some work done. Remember, your mobility got you into this mess.
However, I do hope you get better soon.

(21,236 posts)and replaced it with a new one. Or at least that aggravated it.
The thing weighs well over 50 pounds I think, and it was up high, so I had to use only my outstretched arms to pull the old one out. I didn't have any place to set it down before bringing it into the garage, so I continued to carry it.
I couldn't get it into the garage without twisting it through a narrow doorway, again with outstretched arms only, no body support.

(21,236 posts)even if you are a weight lifter, if you are doing something while not in a good supportive position, like I did, you're still going to mess yourself up!

(21,236 posts)I've been off them for a few days, and I'm still not feeling right.
Also, they kind of stopped working for me.
