(20,664 posts)I knocked out the tooth next to the two big ones in the top front. Had to get it crowned.
It went very smoothly...easier than my molar crowns.

(20,664 posts)They'll take an impression and pictures, drill the remaining tooth down to a nub, and then you'll wait in the chair a bit while they make the crown.
Better than the old days when you had to wear that stupid temporary crown for a few weeks!
My temporary crowns always fell out.

(901 posts)They were starting to chip tiny chunks off the biting edges until one became noticeably chipped. Not a great look when thats the first thing people see. My dentist said this chipping would continue because theyd gotten brittle with age so I bit the proverbially bullet and got them crowned. For me, it was just as Lucky Charms described above. Its a lot of grinding to get them down to nubs but the end result is worth it. Good luck!!

(10,996 posts)I just had my permanent crowns put on my two upper front teeth last week. I put it off for years because I thought it would look horrible. Wish I had done it the first time my dentist told me I needed it. You cannot tell the difference between what used to be there and what's there now!
