I'm emotional on this as my 14 1/2 yo doggy girl is nearing 72 hours after acutely developing gait and balance issues and head tilt secondary to geriatric (idiopathic) vestibular disease.

While she has seen some improvement, trying to get a 62-pound dog with real balance issues (plus osteoarthritis) up and down stairs, walk her, and prevent her from getting urine scalds if she has an accident (and she does) is just difficult for one person. She had actually walked three miles with me hours before she became symptomatic, so this is no chronic health issue and a fair percentage of these dogs (like humans who develop a similar syndrome) gradually return at least close to "normal" in a few weeks so I'm not about to give up on her. She's responding to medications to control nausea and vertigo (dizziness) and is eating and drinking fairly well with assistance.

So, yeah, this person is definitely a DOG PERSON. To all the sweet furry babes who make life worth living (especially now). We owe it to give back to you!

I know not all have a good prognosis, but I am more than willing to give her the chance. Had she not been really healthy before, I might have more qualms, but tincture of time is certainly the least we can do as long as they are not suffering. to all our furry babes

It all goes to his 15/10 foundation that helps dogs in need. And he helps a lot of dogs!
