Ravens fly under the canopy of the forests here (Humboldt county of north coast California). One can hear their wings flapping before you see the birds

Last week on several occasions there were two making a fuss in driveway (not uncommon at all for being in my yard). They had my big, fuzzy and overly confident cat pinned under the Jeep on the carport. He is sort of a terror for birds generally and must have pissed them off.

Those who live here follow me and alert each other to my whereabouts. They are almost as much fun as the bats that come out of the barn in the evening flying wildly, eating bugs.
