Ive been watching Big Cats 24/7 on PBS where the film crews are following a lion pride with I think 14 cubs, a leopard mom and cubs, and a cheetah mom with cubs. The moms are bad ass, needing to hunt and protect their cubs from rogue males and other predators while also teaching them life skills to eventually make it on their own. More than once a rambunctious cub has ruined the moms sneak attack on formerly unsuspecting prey. Then there are times the hunt is successful but a pack of hyenas or larger cats take over the carcass. Mom cats really have a tough life. I look upon them with admiration as well.
