(1,978 posts)My point in posting this, however, was because on the "General Discussion" sub-forum, someone had posted, and then removed a faked/doctored video of Randy's appearance on Clarkson's show.
Supposedly, there was a confrontation. In the interests of truth, I just wanted to provide easy access to the authentic source material.

(7,501 posts)WTF? It seems his appearance on the show was back in May or June. So why all of sudden in the past week are so many people posting fake stories with fake video now? This is clearly a concerted effort to slander Randy Rainbow and/or Kelly Clarkson. I wonder what the motive is?
Thanks for setting the record straight!

(1,978 posts)It might have something to do with the fact that Clarkson is a little Right of Center in her presentation or general vibe. (Don't claim to know her actual politics.)
In the minds of some Conservatives, Clarkson may be seen as "theirs" and maybe they don't like the idea of her hosting Randy Rainbow and therefore "accepting" him in all his glorious gayness.
Just a thought.

-HAS TO BE a conservative gal...
"Hmmmm.... (think the southern conservative minds) she CAN'T be making nice with gay fella."

(2,137 posts)I hadn't heard of that. What a shitty thing to do to such a talented, original and kind person.

(2,137 posts)He does his own interpretations of lots of broadway musicals in his skits, but BOY! I'd LOVE to see him on ACTUAL BROADWAY in a musical. He'd win a TONY for sure!

(7,501 posts)I retired at the end of September that year, and my staff bought me a ticket to the Randy Rainbow show as a retirement gift! Boy did I appreciate that!!! My second show was in April of 2024. I'm hoping he does another show relatively close to here in the future as I will definitely pay to see him again.
He really is talented and his backing band is great too! It's kind of a unique kind of show as he does a great job of incorporating pieces of his videos into his live performance. One of the best moments in the 2 shows I saw was when they were having technical difficulties with one of the videos, so while he had some techie people trying to fix it, he took questions from the audience! That was great!
I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a huge amount of overlap between the 2 shows even though they were less than a year and a half apart. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to see him if you ever get a chance!!

(2,137 posts)Perhaps for Pittsburgh at the Benedum Theater.
I was lucky enough to see Raul Julia there in 'Man of La Mancha' in 1992 and Richard Harris in 1984 in 'Camelot'.
