(879 posts)But I like Christopher Reeves as Superman more than George Reeves or David Corenswet, the current Superman.
George Reeves was good for 1950s TV because it was a simpler time and the story lines were simpler. His character as Superman and as Clark Kent were strong male figures capable of doing anything.
Christopher Reeves' version as Superman made him more vulnerable as a person while maintaining his alter-persona as Clark Kent as a naive, bumbling reporter.
David Corenswet's characterization of Superman was of as of weaker and indecisive person who was a more idealistic than George Reeves and Christopher Reeves' versions. Although I liked the new Superman movie, it was lacking in the story line and entertainment value of Christopher Reeves' 1978 Superman movie.

(31,059 posts)His death by gunshot at age 45 remains controversial. The official finding was suicide, but some believe that he was murdered or the victim of an accidental shooting.
