I got to pet one at a cat show; she felt like warm suede. And I was told that the breed is very, very friendly, always wanting a lap to sit on. It's probably just as much for the warmth as for the love. They're cute in a weird way, but it seems wrong to breed for a negative mutation. Cats shouldn't need to have human-provided clothing when nature offers them better coats of their own.

I also don't like dogs' tails and ears being cropped because humans prefer that look. And while we're at it, I never took our kids to a circus because I don't think animals should have to perform for human amusement.

If I did have one, I think I would have to name him or her E.T.
