Tomorrow is the first day of Tournament Week in Fort Worth: The Charles Schwab Challenge

Known for decades as "The Colonial", it is the only tournament on the PGA Tour which has been played in the same location since its inception. This is the 78th Tournament!

I have a fun little temporary job for the week; it is more fun than Christmas! For the past 8 years, I have been the credentials checker for The Patio Club, a VIP venue in the clubhouse which offers unlimited food and drink, comfortable inside seating, a wraparound patio overlooking the 16th hole, air conditioning and a huge daily ticket price. Insofar as I know, this is the only PGA event with a VIP suite like this one.

This tournament brings in approximately $40 million in outside money to Fort Worth; hotels, restaurants, shopping, etc.

In early June, the Van CLiburn International Piano Competition begins, and it brings in another $20 million. The Cliburn is always in June after a Presidential election year. It's fun living in the Piano Capital of the World every 4 years.

The Cliburn should be live broadcast on YouTube, if anyone is interested.
