The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWell, everything is as good as can be expected!
The doctor said I should keep my limits til about June 1st. I have the tiny brackets on my chest bone that have their own fragility issues, hence the additional healing and limitations time.
The good news is unless I have a major setback, I won't have to go back to St. Louis.
They also approved me doing a Functional Ability Assessment as long as the lift limit stays under 20lbs.
That should help accelerate my disability case. Fingers crossed.
There won't be any cardiac rehab until Summer as my town needs to set it up.

(5,897 posts)At this point you just need to be moving around and not sitting for too long a time. Even brief standups to stretch and move around are enough. Blood vessels after big work need lots of time to heal.

Was going to write a second post wishing you well and realized that's silly.
How is everything? I know you were in the Bullseye this time for sure.
Please let us know you're ok.

Nothing as challenging as your surgery: but in my case was the reverse; underdid my exercises on my mending ripped rotator cuff, and refroze my shoulder for an extra 3 wks+.
Learned my lesson: not too little, and not too much!
Continued GOOD Luck!
