The Justice Department is Acting as a Bouncer for the Powerful

The Justice Department says it is protecting victims.

It just doesn’t mean those victims.

With the latest release of the Epstein files, the department has made its priorities unmistakably clear. The people it is most concerned about safeguarding are not the girls and women who were trafficked, groomed, assaulted, and discarded. The people it is racing to shield are the men who might feel embarrassed, inconvenienced, or reputationally nicked by the truth.

This is how you end up with a crime so vast, so documented, so grotesque, and yet somehow involving no perpetrators. If you believe Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche, this is a crime scene without criminals, a conspiracy without conspirators, a slaughterhouse where, miraculously, no one seems to have held the knife.
