Theocracy or Freedom: That's Our Choice
Lisa Senecal
Do not look away: Support for Donald Trump and his administration is a willful engagement in the transformation of America from a nation built on religious freedom into a Christian nationalist theocracy.
Trump supporters might not like it. Some, like the technocrats, would reject the label, but they're happy to benefit from its agenda. Others have different reasons for supporting Trump. They might believe hes tougher on foreign policy (hes not) or that hes better for the economy (man, oh man, is he not), but reasons aside from creating an American Christian nationalist theocracy do not negate who he is and what he stands for.
A revival. Thats how the memorial service for Charlie Kirk was described by Benny Johnson, the right-wing nationalist, Great Replacement theory conspiracist, Russian stooge, white grievance provocateur, and prolific plagiarist.
J.D. Vance referred to Kirk as a martyr for the Christian faith.

(19,785 posts)They've been working at this for 70+ years. They will not be defeated easily. Gird your loins, it's going to be a longer fight than most realize.

(6,619 posts)have already captured so many of those "mountains" they maintain they HAVE to control in order for Christ's 2nd coming to happen, we're already at the tipping point. This is one of the main aspects of the Kimmel issue that no one's talking about. I heard it spoken of on NPR this afternoon as ABC giving local stations more leeway over what they will or won't show, based on their locality and people. NAR doesn't care about any of that... they desperately want to capture that "Entertainment mountain" and allow only what THEY deem appropriate for everyone to watch. We are so far down the rabbit hole right now with this theocracy I can't see the way out of it without giving up and/or amending certain freedoms we've always taken for granted. But isn't that always the way? Things go along on a par, until someone pisses in your cornflakes and then EVERYONE has to suffer for the "good of their souls."
Thing is, if the NAR has to control all these American entities from government, education, entertainment, etc., for their Christ to come back, what does that say about the religion they follow? If they're doing this so they can all be "raptured" then ask them why would they want to control something that they're just going to taken up into the air and forcibly disassociated with?
Meanwhile, their Christ's own words are ignored, ridiculed, and rolled into hate speech. I don't believe in a 2nd coming... point up front!... but I wish it would be true just to see the look on their faces when Christ embraces the immigrant, gives comfort to the trans, and raises up women in His church. Meanwhile, telling these self-righteous holier-than-thous to "get behind me satan!"
/Rant off... except, I really wish they HAD all been raptured today! Think of the peace, love, and dancing in the streets we'd be doing right now with all of them gone. (sigh)

(19,785 posts)these people are consumed by their religious delusions and won't be silenced easily, if at all. They're entrenched throughout our government and we'll have hell to pay rooting them out.
