"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." (Article II, Section 1, Clause 8)
Although it is said "Perception is reality in politics," the fact remains truth or consequences is a game while truth AND consequences is life. Yet the song and dance goes on between the idea of a republic and the reality of its execution. For those enamored of titles, finery, and pomp and circumstance ignore intangibles. But in a republic, leadership depends upon trust.

Not sure it makes an unbiased case; biased cases are a dime per dozen gross these days.
