White House unveils new images of US 'patriot passports' for America's 250th

Donald Trump’s efforts to brand the US government with his name and image advanced on Friday when the White House unveiled new images of a passport watermarked with his portrait to mark America’s 250th anniversary.

The White House called it simply the “patriot passport”, while on Truth Social the president introduced it as “The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’”

The state department says the limited-edition commemorative US passport was created “to commemorate the historic occasion of America’s 250th anniversary and will be issued at the Washington Passport Agency in Washington, DC starting on July 6, 2026, while supplies last”.

The state department said it would issue a commemorative passport in April, but the finished item features different artwork.

And how does Trump's photo commemorate our 250th anniversary. He had nothing to do with founding the country and is working hard to ensure that the democracy ends at 250.

Why add "Welcome, but be good!"? Only U.S. Citizens and certain U.S. Nationals have a passport in the first place.

I saw the trump post on new passports and laughed. The holders of these passports are being told "Welcome, but be good". The only people who get these passports are US citizens who live here already

The release of a Donald Trump “commemorative” US passport, featuring an incomprehensible message from the president, baffled a conservative pundit on Saturday morning, which led to gales of laughter on MS NOW.

Before moving on to more serious topics, “The Weekend” co-host Jackie Alemany told the panel, “Let's talk about Donald Trump's new commemorative passport. This features a picture of the President leaning over scowling with his signature scowl, but it also has a new catchphrase on it. His message: ‘Welcome, but be good.’”

That led to an initial outburst of laughter and all five panelists talking over each other before conservative journalist David Drucker attempted, “I mean sure, we should all be good, whether you're coming here or not.”

“I don't — I mean, what do you do with that?” he asked before pausing, which led to another outburst of laughter.

Boston Globe columnist Kimberly Atkins Stohr interjected, “Does he understand what a passport does? A passport allows you to travel —.”

”To leave the country!” co-host Eugene Daniels interrupted.

that picture, or something equivalent, will be his choice for his official presidential portrait?

Like I've said at least a gazillion times, wealth does not guarantee class, or taste. Trump is one of the most classless, tasteless people on the planet. And those are some of his better characteristics.
