CHICAGO (WLS) -- City and state leaders are expected to push for the next Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago.

Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor JB Pritzker are laying out their bid to DNC leadership to bring the convention back.

The official launch video, which was released Monday morning, repositions Chicago as the place to host the 2028 DNC.

Monday's site visit will include a tour of the United Center as well as meetings to discuss Chicago's readiness as a host city.

This week, DNC leadership also expected to go on a special visit to the Obama Presidential Center.

The city is coming off the success of the 2024 DNC which will likely be a key part of the 2028 bid.

I think it will end up going to Atlanta since GA has become a swing state, and one being courted by the party for some gains.

Atlanta, Phoenix, Charlotte, Detroit, Minneapolis , all would be better choices than Chicago.

Given Denver hosted the last successful Democratic Presidential nominee (Barack Obama), I like its Karmic vibes and success rate.

So, I'm set. I had a roll in the public health planning then and had great time with Howard Dean. He may not remember me, but I will always remember his sense of humor!
