The man accused of attacking Rep. Ilhan Omar during a Tuesday evening town hall meeting in Minnesota is a piece of s**t with lifelong anger issues who has been fixated on the Somali-born lawmaker and the Somali diaspora in general for years, his younger brother told The Independent.
Im not surprised this happened, Anthony James Kazmierczaks brother said Wednesday morning in a phone interview from his home in North Carolina. Not at all. Unfortunately, he and my mother are both right-wing extremists.
Kazmierczak, a 55-year-old Minneapolis resident, is just a different person than I am, according to the brother, who said he has been estranged from his sibling for the past four years. The Independent agreed not to name the brother, who said he has begun receiving death threats.
I believe in helping people, Kazmierczaks brother, 52, went on. He believes in blaming people.

We have seen many DUers describe living with the same situation within their own families.

(22,943 posts)Fortunately my family is all like minded and liberal.
I have a sibling that Ive blocked, and only say hello at family gatherings. My in-laws keep telling my wife and me that we need to just wait to see all the amazing progress that will be made. Unfortunately, I see them fairly often and have to hold my tongue because of my wifes wish to maintain a relationship with them. So count yourself very lucky.

If every relative reported a relative they felt was capable of violence due to being a nut, we would have 1/2 of the census to investigate. I'm glad he spoke up.
