Two women who say they were sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein urged Congress to compel the Justice Department to release all of the files on the accused sex trafficker, whose powerful friends included President Donald Trump.
Liz Stein and Jess Michaels made these comments during an interview with NBC News on Thursday, where they were joined by freshly minted Rep. Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz.
Moments after she was sworn in on Wednesday, and with Stein and Michaels looking on, Grijvala provided the crucial 218th signature needed to bypass GOP leaders and force a floor vote on the issue. We need the American people to not stop putting the pressure on, Michaels said. We cant stop putting the pressure, because its only one tiny victory.
Stein praised the handful of Republicans who have supported their drive to open the Epstein files. Those who voted to stand with us are on the right side of this issue, she said.

(1,901 posts)Sex trafficker makes it sound like a pimp trafficking hookers, which is misleading.
When the names are revealed they need to be tied to the child rapist's ring of pedophiles. No wiggle room. They have escaped punishment for too long.
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED at the very least.

(8 posts)The question asked by travelingthrulife is in my opinion the only question that I would love to hear and answer to >> Why should congress be forced to do the right thing?? Totally blows my mind that they would hide behind the Orange predator. I just don't get it!!

(163,279 posts)apparently some didn't want to go along with the idea due to their and their lawyers' concern of doing that and the potential of opening them up to potential legal (and other) threats/consequences.
It's probably similar to the quandary by those abused by the Catholic church decades ago, finally deciding so many years later, to report the abuse, and submit claims.
