A strike will remain on pause Wednesday as contract negotiations continue between the Harrisburg Area Community College and the faculty union.

The Harrisburg Area Community College Education Association (HACCEA) had originally planned to strike at HACC's campus in Lancaster.

But after the college and union met Tuesday night for seven hours, they decided to pause the strike.

A representative for the union says "significant progress" was made at that meeting. While they cannot share any information about what was discussed, the union says they are hopeful they will be able to reach a tentative agreement at the next meeting.
