Hakeem Jeffries Accuses the Supreme Court of Corruption in Scathing Attack on Conservative Justices

Source: MEDIAite

Nov 11th, 2025, 12:22 pm

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) accused the Supreme Court of corruption on Tuesday in a scathing attack on the court’s conservative justices, which led to CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer asking for clarification. Blitzer began the exchange by asking Jeffries to respond to Sen. Angus King’s (I-ME) justification for voting to reopen the government and end the shutdown, a move that has angered many in the Democratic Party’s base.

“Well, the suffering that has been visited upon the American people over the last several weeks is very consistent with, unfortunately, the suffering Donald Trump and Republicans have visited upon the people since day one of his presidency, where we’ve seen these Republicans unleash extreme levels of aggressive behavior that does not make life better for these Americans. It makes life worse,” Jeffries replied, adding:

And we’ve seen it: an all-out assault on the economy, an all-out assault on health care, an all-out assault on nutritional assistance, an all-out assault by these Republicans on veterans and farmers and law-abiding immigrant families and the American way of life and, of course, democracy itself.

And so our fight obviously is going to continue through whatever happens this week because as House Democrats we’re committed to driving down the high cost of living, to fixing our broken health care system, and at the same period of time cleaning up the corruption that exists in Washington, D.C. — in the Congress, at the Supreme Court, and of course with the Trump administration, the most corrupt administration in American history — so we can actually deliver a country of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Held back a Supreme Court nomination until Obama left office,
then
Rushed/pushed through nomination when Ruth Ginsburg died a short time before Biden was to take office.
Two conservative justices appointed which should have been appointed by Democratic presidents.

DO SOMETHING! Be creative. Especially after backstabbing those who will lose their medical insurance. Words themselves just don't work on the base anymore. Sorry

The window to sign up for insurance ends on December 15, with the rates and coverage locked in beginning Jan. 1. The Rs had made it clear they were NEVER going to even talk to the Ds about the ACA, let alone debate it. They (the Rs) were going to let the ACA extension possibility just "wither on the vine" without one effing concern about all the other suffering and chaos they were causing. That's how much they hate ACA. With time running out, what the Ds did was to AT LEAST get the Rs to agree to hold a vote on the matter next month. You can't say ACA doesn't matter to them, because otherwise it would have been a matter of just watching the sand run through the hourglass until December 15. The vote will solidify that the loss of coverage for millions (so regrettable) is all on the Rs. In addition to that upcoming vote, the Ds got re-instatement and increase of SNAP benefits, reimbursement to states of what they've paid out for SNAP this month, re-hiring of all federal employees plus back pay, funding of agencies, etc. So, in reality, the Rs caved to the Ds demands, because the Rs were offering NOTHING! Repeat: There was NO BACKSTABBING by Democrats!!

Yeah, I thought so
Of course it was a cave. Corporate Democrats resigning or not running. With their cushy lobbyist jobs all lined up with thanks for their capitulation from those new bosses. Having a big tent means not only do we have the Mamdani's and the AOCs, it means we also have right thinking corporatists who are socially liberal, but economically in bed with the elite classes. That is reality.

in the 2000 election when the USSC unlawfully intervened with stopping the re-count in Florida, just in the nick of time.....

And this current group of Republican Justices are by far the most corrupt ever........to me it is un-fathomable how they are getting away with it...

I knew then we were on the bad side of the future, and headed nowhere but downwards. And it wasn't only the stopping of the recount, itself, that gave me those thoughts. It was the fact that the Brooks Brothers "riots" were allowed to happen and not stopped in their tracks. The SCOTUS stopping the recounts was the *reward* for the illegal behavior, IMO.

And the same corruption happened in the 2004 election, and most certainly in the 2016 election.........

In many cases, the Supreme Court Justices and Republican Party were not only committing felonies in those elections, , but actual Treasonous actions......

There are many books and articles about the harm John Roberts has done to our democracy. Articles and opinions on this issue have appeared in Newsweek, the Hill, Yahoo, MSN, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Harvard Law and many others.
.
The 6 Republicans on the Supreme Court make decision against our Constitution, against the rule of law, against precedence. They are 6 Maga. I believe we should include them in our next protests.

as much as I loathe Moscow Mitch and what he did denying Obama an appointment, I now think Merrick Garland would have been a disastrous justice. Not nearly as disastrous as ANY of this evil six-pack, but can you imagine someone so gutless and cowardly on the bench? Oh, wait...I just talked myself in a circle!

Truthfully, it always bummed me out that O always felt he had to try so hard to "reach across the aisle" (because he is a man of class and grace) but all that really meant was getting his hand slapped. Garland was supposedly an "acceptable" pick for the Rs, but then they just played Lucy and the football again.

The Trump Regime is propped up by a willing GOP dominant Congress.

They are all guilty of crimes against America and the American people. (not just Americans either)

Yes he is – but ultimately, it won’t change anything.

Even if Democrats control Congress and the WH, there will still be a corrupt, dishonest conservative majority prepared to strike down anything Democrats might accomplish.
