Olivia Rodrigo Attacks ICE Video Using Her Song: 'Racist, Hateful'

A video posted by the official Instagram accounts for the Department of Homeland Security and White House urging undocumented immigrants to self-deport used part of Rodrigo’s “all american b****,” the opening track from her 2023 album Guts.

Rodrigo, who is Filipino American, objected to the use of her song in a comment, writing: “don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.”

A spokesperson for DHS told Newsweek that America is “grateful” for the federal law enforcement officers who keep Americans safe and suggested Rodrigo “thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”

The video using Rodrigo’s music remains on the White House and DHS’ Instagram accounts. It was also posted on DHS’ Facebook page.
