Trump melts down over G20 summit location

Source: msn.com

Story by Erik De La Garza • 6h • 2 min read

President Donald Trump erupted Friday on Truth Social, declaring it a “total disgrace” that next year’s G20 summit will be held in South Africa – and vowing that no U.S. officials will attend the global gathering as long as “human rights abuses” continue there.

“It is a total disgrace that the G20 will be held in South Africa,” Trump wrote Friday. “Afrikaners (People who are descended from Dutch settlers, and also French and German immigrants) are being killed and slaughtered, and their land and farms are being illegally confiscated. No U.S. Government Official will attend as long as these Human Rights abuses continue.”

Trump added that he would “look forward to hosting the 2026 G20 in Miami, Florida!” The president’s remarks came just after leaving the White House for Mar-a-Lago, his beach resort just north of Miami...............

The Mugabe regime started a confiscation program in 2000 to take land from white farm owners, most of whom were descendants of British rather than Dutch settlers. I don't know if any of the farmers was actually killed, but many of them left the country.

Like I said, this was 20 to 25 years ago. I don't think it's happening right now, and Zimbabwe and South Africa are different countries.

But in robberies and home invasions by criminals, not by the SA government. South Africa has had problems with high crime rates, especially in rural areas, with a lack of police to patrol the areas.

But it's not that white Afrikaners have been singled out; far more black South Africans have died in the violence.

In short, there is no genocide on White people in South Africa.

Quelle (not a) surprise!

From "Northjersey.com" website (May 2025)"

What was the apartheid in South Africa? Trump welcomes white South Africans to U.S.

The first group of white South African refugees arrived in the U.S. on Monday to be prioritized for resettlement by order of President Donald Trump — who made an exception as the refugee program remains suspended.

The group of 59 people, who belong to the Afrikaner ethnic group — classified by Trump as refugees — landed at the Dulles International Airport on a government-chartered flight and were greeted by federal officials. Their applications were fast-tracked in an unconventional process that, under the refugee resettlement program, typically takes years to process.

Trump claims the group has been victims of racial discrimination, and he and South African-born advisor Elon Musk have been vocal about what they say is persecution by their government because of their race.

Or the abuses by the Boers (Afrikaners) from the time they settled in South Africa in the 1600’s onward.

Years back, I read “Kaffir Boy” by Johannes (Mark) Mathabane. A searing, eye-opening story of a person of color growing up in the South African apartheid regime. It was a truly outstanding read.

The claim that Afrikaners are being slaughtered in a genocide is false and has been widely discredited by experts, fact-checkers, the South African government, and even some Afrikaner organizations.
While South Africa does have a serious and extremely high rate of violent crime that affects all communities, including farmers, the available evidence does not support the narrative of a targeted, race-based campaign or genocide against Afrikaners.
Key facts regarding this claim:
No Evidence of Genocide: Experts and independent bodies, including the Institute for Security Studies in South Africa, state there is no indication of a state-sponsored campaign or intent to eliminate a specific racial group. A South African court ruling in February 2025 also dismissed the idea of a genocide as "clearly imagined" and "not real".
High Crime Rates Overall: South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world, with tens of thousands of murders annually. The majority of victims of violent crime are Black South Africans, who make up the majority of the population.
Farm Murders are Part of Broader Crime: Attacks on farms are a significant concern due to the isolation of rural areas, which provides perpetrators with more time. However, these crimes are generally linked to robbery and the broader issue of violent crime, not a racial or political genocide. Victims of farm murders include people of all races (farmers, workers, and their families), which challenges the idea that only white people are targeted.
Government Position: The South African government has strongly condemned and debunked the genocide claims, with President Cyril Ramaphosa calling them "completely false".
Origin of Claims: The claims have been primarily circulated by right-wing lobby groups, some conservative commentators, and amplified by figures like US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. These claims often rely on misleading information and images that are not factual representations of a genocide.
In summary, while violent crime in South Africa is a severe problem for everyone living there, the specific claim that Afrikaners are being systematically "slaughtered" is a false narrative.

This Clip Of Donald Trump Seemingly Confusing South America With South Africa Is Just...Wow
“For generations, Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa,” Trump said. “If you take a look at what is going on in parts of South Africa. Look at what is going on in South Africa. Look at South America, what’s going on. We have a G20 meeting in South Africa. South Africa shouldn’t even be in the Gs anymore.”

There are many factual inaccuracies in Trump’s statement to go along with the obvious geographical gaffes. For instance, South Africa has never had a communist government, so its citizens have never had to “flee communist tyranny” for Miami. In fact, South Africans make up less than 0.03% of Miami’s population.

Trump’s diatribe against South Africa comes just days after his administration restricted the number of refugees admitted annually to the United States to 7,500, and most of those are white South Africans.

Considering how hard it is for most people to confuse a country with a continent, it’s no surprise Trump was brutally mocked.
