The US economy added 42,000 private-sector jobs last month, more than expected

Private-sector job creation bounced back in October, according to a snapshot of the labor market that has become more closely watched in the absence of official federal jobs data.
Payroll processing company ADP on Wednesday estimated that private-sector businesses added an estimated 42,000 jobs last month, a swing into positive territory after back-to-back months of job losses.
That recovery is tepid, and it is not broad-based, Nela Richardson, ADPs chief economist, said during a call with reporters on Wednesday.

I think calling this a "recovery" after two miserable reports is like putting cologne on a turd. We could see these numbers revised down in the future as bad as things are.

(2,291 posts)Also wouldn't put it past the regime to lean on ADP to produce happy-sounding numbers. Thugs that they are, they lean on everyone. Right out in the open in some cases. Who knows how often they do it without the public finding out, but probably a LOT more than we know of
