President Donald Trumps angry response to a crypto corruption question shoehorned in at the end of his 60 Minutes interview was cut from the shows final edit.
CBS aired a 28-minute version of the Trump interview on TV, then released a 73-minute extended cut online, which was also shared by the White Houses RapidResponse 47 X account.
The MAGA social media account claimed it was the FULL Trump interview that came without the networks edits and cuts. An editors note on 60 Minutes YouTube upload of the extended interview said it was condensed for clarity.
However, while a tense exchange over crypto corruption with interviewer Norah ODonnell featured as part of the full written transcript on the 60 Minutes Overtime site, it did not appear in any online video version.

@SenSchumer
Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unhinged 60 Minutes interview.
It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris.

No "maybe". Just. Do. It. And when they reject it or ignore it, then make a fuss about it, and don't let up.
I heard this mentioned on a radio report this morning and it took who knows how long, since Google is intentionally censoring, to get the "edit" story and Chuck Schumer's response.

It is written so that even a third grader could match it to what the Republicans/Trump were doing in America.
I wouldn't have sent 1984, because it takes a much much higher intellectual capability to read 1984, much less understand it.
My personal feeling is that Orwell got it wrong in 1984, it isn't the government that we had to watch out for, it was the CORPORATIONS we had to watch out for to make sure they didn't take over the government.
Simplest definition of Fascism is the merger of Corporations and Government which is what the Republicans have accomplished.

(493 posts)...the Tainted Tangerine Traitor actually answer questions. It is malpractice.
I get that in part it is because they want to cover so many topics and do not have time, but that is an editorial decision on their part. I also get that they know going in that he doesn't actually know the answers to the questions and is going to just endlessly deflect so why not move on, but that just lets the idiot off the hook on questions that every American deserves to know if the President of the U.S. has even the slightest clue about. Failure to expose his lies and ignorance on important questions is one reason we find ourselves here.
Healthcare was a good example:
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: No, no. But the subsidies is part of it. We're supposed to spend trillions of dollars to take care of something that-- that is defective. What I'm saying is, we can make it much less expensive for people and give them much better healthcare. And I'd be--
NORAH O'DONNELL: But where is that plan?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: --willing to work with the Democrats--
NORAH O'DONNELL: But where is that plan?
Had Norah actually made him answer this question we all know how badly things would have gone. He has no plan and no clue how to "make it much less expensive for people and give them much better healthcare." Nor do Republicans in congress. The perpetually-petulant POS and his lapdogs in congress seem to believe that repealing the ACA is an actual plan that achieves this goal; not just a path back to all of the problems we had in healthcare that led to the imperfect but much-better-than-nothing ACA we ended up with.
But Norah let the mindless rambler off the hook by following up with a question about the damn subsidies and not pressing him on what his actual healthcare plan is.
And the whole thing ended like this:
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: And it's a disaster. The same guy that did his museum, which is a total catastrophe, came up with a bad healthcare plan. And for the sake of one vote, we would have had, you know, it's so sad thinking back--
NORAH O'DONNELL: But how-- I guess the question is-- I hear you.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: If we had the vote, that one vote, we would have great healthcare at a much lower cost, and that's what I want. But I don't want to give $1.5 trillion to prisoners and drug dealers and-- and the people that-- that came into our country from mental institutions. What they allowed to come into our country, and we're getting 'em out, but what they allowed to come into our country, Norah, is horrible. So--
NORAH O'DONNELL: I just--
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: --ready?
NORAH O'DONNELL: Okay.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: We can make it good.
NORAH O'DONNELL: I don't want to get into a back-- too much of a back and forth on this--
That's your damn job NORAH. Do your damn job....
I guess nobody knew that interviewing complete idiots was so complicated....

(493 posts)...I quoted is how she fell into the trap of changing the subject on herself--as many interviewers seem to do.
There should be a short list of questions that you demand an answer to; not a long list of questions that you will just accept any babble or lie for an answer to and move on to the next one.
IMO, what the actual plan that Turnip and Republicans have for healthcare is an extremely important question to force them to answer. I believe we all know: there really isn't one. But as long as they are allowed to pretend like they have some plan or concept of a plan if only the ACA would get defunded or repealed and not be forced to admit there is no plan then they can continue to lie and lie and lie about it and sound somewhat credible.
Healthcare touches all of our lives. The prices we all pay for it are intertwined. "[A]s many as 66.5% of people who file for bankruptcy blame medical bills as the primary cause."
https://www.ilr.cornell.edu/scheinman-institute/blog/john-august-healthcare/healthcare-insights-how-medical-debt-crushing-100-million-americans
I get that Norah is a millionaire interviewing a billionaire, and neither of them probably even know anyone that has had to declare bankruptcy over medical debt--but to the vast majority of the American people this is either an extremely important issue now or will be one in the future. Everyone needs healthcare.
But Norah did not press for an answer to her question, "where is that plan?" She switched topics to the subsidies; let the Evil Orangeutan off the hook; and then moved on.
Forcing Turnip and Republicans to admit they have no healthcare plan--that saying "we can make it good," isn't a damn plan for anything; and that until such a day the ACA is fundamental to making sure more Americans do not suffer under a system that is geared towards profits for companies that never even touch a patient--is a critical step towards actually helping the American people and exposing their hypocrisy.

(493 posts)...in terms of healthcare--and he never misses one of those.
He doesn't see you or your family at all unless maybe you contributed to his bunker room or attended his Great Gatsby party....
With every passing day and every passing interview he proves his lack of basic humanity--the thing that would be required to see others as and where they are. The good news for him is that it makes it very easy to lie about everything in pursuit of his real aims. The bad news for us is that those lies expose his aims and far too many of the American people either shrug or support it.
