A Democratic congressman on Friday called for the former prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to testify before the US House of Representatives committee that is conducting an inquiry into the governments handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The statement from Ro Khanna, a California Democratic representative, who serves on the investigative House oversight committee, comes after the UK trade minister, Chris Bryant, suggested that since Mountbatten Windsor had been stripped of his royal titles, he should answer demands for information about his dealings with Epstein, an alleged sex trafficker who died by suicide while in federal custody six years ago.
Just as with any ordinary member of the public, if there were requests from another jurisdiction of this kind, I would expect any decently minded person to comply with that request, Bryant said.
Khanna told the Guardian: Andrew should be called to testify before the oversight committee. The public deserves to know who was abusing women and young girls alongside Epstein.

(7,408 posts)Royalty around the world have a long history of messing around outside normal relationships, and it is Never Spoken Of.
Besides, Andrew has lost his title but not his feeling of entitlement and arrogance. And he is hardly going to tattle on himself.

(1,923 posts)Nonetheless, it is absolutely right and smart to publicly pressure Andrew AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS IN THIS RING to come testify voluntarily.
None of them will, but this is a good way to get the media to start thinking and talking about the vast scope of this operation.
People who are quick to poo-poo something like pressuring Andrew to come forward and testify need to step back and take a look at the bigger picture. Just because he'll say no right now doesn't mean it isn't good move strategy-wise.

(1,923 posts)at using this kind of tactic. It is a good strategic move. I think the committee must know many of the names already. They should make one of these invitations every week.
Naturally, they have already lawyered-up big time and they won't come anywhere near the Committee meeting room. Nonetheless, the Media will start asking questions and doing profiles on Pervy. "Gee, I wonder what he knows about this operations? I wonder why he is refusing to testify?"
And the Epstein thing was way bigger than a child sex ring. It was mainly about money laundering and extortion, so the committee can make similar invitations of the people involved in those aspects:
This is effectively like the so-called "speaking indictment". It is a way to pique the media's interest and get them talking about the Epstein operation on a daily basis. None of these things needs to explicitly mention Trump. We already know Trump is at the center of it all because of how hard he is fighting to keep it contained. Each of these invitations will provoke another eruption from Trump, and the media will figure that out.
