Eric Adams endorses Andrew Cuomo for New York City mayor

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Mayor Eric Adams endorsed former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the race for New York City mayor on Thursday.

The two appeared together at an event in East Harlem for the formal announcement and Adams hugged Cuomo before announcing his support.

Adams said sometimes "brothers fight," explaining away his prior statements and said now is the time for the two to campaign together.

"This is going to be a raw-knuckle fight on the streets, one block at a time, one building at a time, and we're ready to take it on and that's why I'm here today," Adams said. "So, yes, 'You criticized Andrew, you called him names.' You know what? He called me names. But you know what? Now it's time to fight for the family. And I'm going to fight for the family with Andrew Cuomo as the next Mayor of the City of New York."
