New vaccination maps reveal outbreak risks. Is your county protected?

Source: USA today

New data shows widespread erosion in vaccination coverage in over 75% of U.S. counties, leaving many without immunity from outbreaks

Vaccination coverage is eroding across the United States at the same time measles cases are surging, according to new county-level data compiled from state health agencies.

Measles outbreaks are infecting more people this year than in any year since the early 1990s and have already killed three people. So far in 2025, all but eight states have reported measles cases, a disease the United States declared eliminated in 2000. Nearly 92% of these cases were among the unvaccinated or people with unknown vaccination status.

Federal data released in July showed that childhood vaccination rates, which had remained steady for years, have declined, while the share of children exempted for religious and philosophical reasons has increased.

An analysis of this combined data, covering counties in 41 states, showed that routine vaccine coverage among children has slipped in most counties, leaving more communities vulnerable today than before the pandemic.

In at least 3 out of 4 counties, vaccination coverage is below 95%, an immunity threshold experts say is needed to prevent widespread outbreaks. .....................

I think people are stupid and selfish. These caretakers are not only risking diseases on their own kids--but ALL the kids who they interact with in their neighborhoods and schools.
Damn, it is so sickening!!

Only a quarter of U.S. counties meet the 95% immunity threshold

Percentages are calculated using the counties with data available for each school year. The number of counties changes each year, so a confidence interval, shown as the shaded area, was included. The interval indicates the range within which the true figure is likely to fall. Counties with no 2 MMR or all series data were excluded.

Due to the breakouts in Texas, figured a simple blood test was worth piece of mind.
Due to when I was born, I didn't have the antbodies for measles, so I got a vaccination.

I would get vaccinated for everything and anything every week if I could.

Anti-vaxxers are FUCKING MORONS.
