DENVER (AP) A 16-year-old boy who had been radicalized by an extremist network fired a revolver multiple times at a suburban Denver high school, wounding two students, authorities said Thursday.
Some students ran and others locked down during Wednesdays shooting at Evergreen High School in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. One of the victims was shot inside the school and another outside. The suspect, fellow student Desmond Holly, later died, officials with the Jefferson County sheriffs office said.
Details on how Holly allegedly had been radicalized will be released at a later date, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley said during a Thursday news conference. Investigators were searching the suspects room, his backpack and his locker as they try to unravel the shooting.
A day after the shooting, cars of students and staffers remained in the parking lot outside the school nestled in the foothills.

(33,122 posts)Because of the constant insecurity and fear people under 50
must feel most of the time, it's less difficult to reach that
area of the brain that processes these feelings.
Republicans sometimes do this very effectively, so that it
either encourages more violence and/or gets them to vote
against their best interests.
Republicans, with big money and special interests involved,
have gamed the whole system to work this way.
The Charlie Kirk incident won't make anything better, to
use the understatement of the year.

............Kelley said Holly had been radicalized by some extremist network, and suggested authorities came to that conclusion after examining the suspects home and phone.
But details on how he allegedly had been radicalized and by what group were not immediately released, with Kelley promising more information at a later date.
It also remained unclear if Holly knew the victims and had a dispute with them, or if they were shot randomly. Both were reported in critical conditIon Thursday....................

It's a good thing Trump put that 22 year old intern in charge of terrorism prevention and they're stopping investigation of domestic terrorism to focus on the border. We sure wouldn't want to stop the good work the White Nationalists and Christian Nationalists are doing. /s
