Ghislaine Maxwell's Attorney Insists He Has No Idea Why Trump DOJ Transferred Client to Lower-Security Prison

Arthur Aidala, a lawyer for convicted child sex trafficker and former Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, said he does not know why Maxwell was transferred to a lower-security prison last month. Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse children. Epstein died in a prison cell in 2019. The official cause of death was listed as suicide.

In July, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, a former criminal attorney for former Epstein friend President Donald Trump, interviewed Maxwell in prison. Maxwell has denied any wrongdoing in the case. About a week after the interview, the Department of Justice transferred Maxwell to a lower-security facility.

On Monday’s CNN NewsNight, host Abby Phillip asked Aidala about the “unusual” decision to transfer Maxwell. “Arthur, the deputy attorney general met with Ghislaine and then she shortly thereafter moved to a cushier prison,” Phillip said. “Why?”

“Well, there are things I’m not, you know, I’m not allowed to talk about, right?” Aidala replied, seeming taken aback by the question. “So, there are things I can’t talk about.”

That's what she was offered for whatever she gave them. And her pardon won't come for a while yet, but it is 100% coming.

Ghislaine Maxwell Lawyer Makes Stunning Quid Pro Quo Confession

Ghislane Maxwell’s former lawyer just admitted what we all suspected: The sexual abuser and Epstein accomplice was transferred to a nicer, minimum-security prison so that she could give the Trump administration something in exchange—like a favorable testimony.

Arthur Aidala, who represented Maxwell in her 2022 sex-trafficking trial and appeals, appeared on CNN on Monday to talk about the case.

“The deputy attorney general met with Ghislaine, and then she was shortly thereafter moved to a cushier prison,” CNN’s Abby Phillips asked Aidala, who has also represented Alan Dershowitz, Harvey Weinstein, and Rudy Giuliani. “Why?”

“Well, there are things I’m not allowed to talk about, right?” Aidala replied, stumbling over his words. “So there are things I can’t talk about.”

C'mon!!!! It's not Occam’s razor. It's Occam’s giant freaking guillotine! YOU KNOW exactly why!

Aidala:

"You know, I’m not allowed to talk about, right?”

But not this. Your client's trial is over. This is a public event that has already happened, with your assistance.

Did you ask for it, or was if offered to your 'client?'

Don't lawyers have an ethical responsibility to not participate with their clients' subterfuge? Failing that is disbarment?

My earlier comment:

Aidala didn't say he didn't know why she was transferred. What he said was he refused to discuss it because he wasn't allowed to. In other words, HE DID KNOW.

Stupid of the headline writer and stupid of the person who read that and approved it.

Further down in the story past what is allowed on DU, he does say he doesn't know why they moved her. But the headline should have referred to what was at the top, not buried at the bottom.

PHILLIP: Would this have happened before or after the interview? Would they have said to her, “We’re gonna do this interview, and in exchange for it, you’re going to go to this other prison”?

AIDALA: The truth is, Abby, I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that. I don’t know the answer to that question. I don’t have knowledge of when that decision was made, but usually, for me, because I did not walk Ghislaine into that particular proceeding.
