Israel's supreme court says government is not giving Palestinian prisoners enough food

Source: AP via The Guardian

Israel’s supreme court has ruled that the government has failed to provide Palestinian security prisoners with adequate food for basic subsistence and ordered authorities to improve their nutrition.

Sunday’s decision was a rare case in which the country’s highest court ruled against the government’s conduct during the nearly two-year war.

Since the war began, Israel has seized thousands of people in Gaza that it suspects of having links to Hamas. Thousands have also been released without charge, often after months of detention.

Rights groups have documented widespread abuse in prisons and detention facilities, including insufficient food and health care, as well as poor sanitary conditions and beatings. In March, a 17-year-old Palestinian boy died at an Israeli prison and doctors said starvation was likely the main cause of death.

Otherwise, how could they possibly take issue with any part of Netanyahu's years-long campaign of deliberate civilian murder?

The order means nothing. Not any different here in the US.
The court may rule this or that but when it comes to the government, all it can do is hope they comply because if they don't there is nothing the court can do about it.

Same here in the US. Mango Mussolini can freely ignore court orders and has because their is no repercussions if he doesn't. The courts are toothless and helpless in the face of a government that is willing to ignore their rulings.

And that the info is now being discussed around the world, means that this is far from a meaningless action.

Because we are not going to do anything about knowing that information.
What are we going to do? Protest for a couple hours between 12-2 and then go home?

They, both the US and Israel governments, are more than happy to keep doing what they are doing because people are not willing to demand accountability and protest until there is accountability.
Words without actions are like a tree that flowers but produces no fruit: makes you feel good but your stomach is still empty.
