Trump sending National Guard to New Orleans in next crime crackdown

Source: The Hill

President Trump announced Friday that he will soon be sending the National Guard to New Orleans after previously teasing that he would be targeting the city in his next federal crime crackdown. “We’re going to come into New Orleans, and we’re going to make that place so safe,” Trump said during a Friday night event held in the White House’s newly renovated Rose Garden. “It’s got a little problem right now, a couple of headaches, like murders, a lot of little murders going on, and we’re not going to stand for it. And we’re going to come in, we’re going to clean it up.”

Trump’s confirmation that he’s planning to federalize New Orleans’ law enforcement comes days after he floated the idea. Trump on Wednesday said he was debating between sending Guardsmen into New Orleans, targeting a Republican-controlled state, or to Chicago.

“We’re making a determination now — do we go to Chicago, or do we go to a place like New Orleans where we have a great governor, Jeff Landry, who wants us to come in and straighten out a very nice section of this country that’s become quite tough, quite bad,” Trump said Wednesday.

Illinois Democrats have been vocal about their lack of support for a federal crime crackdown in Chicago, with Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) warning the president not to do so and calling his plans “an insult.”

The coward is now explicitly going after mayors who are not only POC, but WOMEN (L.A., D.C., Boston, New Orleans), after the men dared him (Chicago, Baltimore).

And as a note about Landry, who they had to CLEAN UP before the next episode of the psychotic WH reality show - Louisiana governor pays fine and discloses $13K in unreported free trips in deal to end ethics probe

For DC, they were only in the lowest crime (tourist) neighborhoods and rounding up Latinos in Latino neighborhoods. They did nothing for the high crime neighborhoods.

4. Both Gov of Illinois and Mayor of Chicago pushed back,

with the underlying threat of legal action if it continued. While the Mayor of NO will hopefully push back, she won't be supported by her gov if she does. Indeed he will probably welcome this with open arms, and see it as a way to figure out how to remove and replace the Mayor with a good ole boi.

AND that CA governor DID file suit and has some legal wins under his belt.

But the difference is the mayor of Los Angeles (Karen Bass) is a black woman and he has a sick power-tripping obsession over black women.

Unfortunately, the mayor of New Orleans (LaToya Cantrell) has her own legal issues (seemingly not unlike what has happened to Fulton County, GA D.A. Fani Willis).

People coming to New Orleans is one of the largest money makers in the state. This will be interesting.

6. And do the people who live in New Orleans want trump's thugs roaming their city?

Presumably they will remain in safe, crime-free areas as they have elsewhere, wasting our tax money to, I guess, glorify Der Führer.

10. About Landry and an ethics probe

A Louisiana politician being the subject of an "ethics probe?" Well, speaking as a native of SW Mississippi, three miles from the LA state line, with half of my family being SE LA coonass Cajuns, and with family members who are LA politicans -- am I ever shocked and surprised!!!

Quoting one of my Cajun cousins: "It's a lot cheaper to pay a judge than pay a lawyer!!"

And when did murder just become a headache? The comments just show his actual concern over crime in the city.
