Trump orders takedown of longtime protest tent at White House

President Trump ordered the removal of the White House Peace Vigil on Friday, marking an end to a 44-year protest against the nation’s nuclear weaponry and warfare. A reporter informed the president of the ongoing protest — now manned by Philipos Melaku-Bello and a group of rotating volunteers — Friday in the Oval Office, describing the long-standing tent as an “eye sore” for visitors supported by the “radical left.”

“I didn’t know that. Take it down. Take it down today, right now,” Trump told staffers inside the White House.

The president has pledged to erase homeless encampments across Washington, D.C., in an effort to clean the streets ahead of the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding. Unhoused residents have faced a swarm of police officers and National Guard soldiers in recent weeks who have detained them for sleeping outside.

However, the peace vigil in Lafayette Park stands out as a permanent stakeout for free speech and is widely known as the longest continuous act of political protest in U.S. history. Activist William Thomas propped up the free standing structure in June 1981 parallel to the North Lawn, where dignitaries and world leaders arrive for discussion and dissent.

Now there will be a hundred little protests everywhere.

That organization should sue pedo Trump's gestapo, if they take it down, for violating their free speech. Then use that money to protest for peace even more.

It actually makes the White House more beautiful, because it means that Neoclassical mansion actually stands for something, or at least used to before this year.

of the white house fence, in a "mini-tank" looking golf cart, with him blaring over a megaphone; 'OFF WITH THEIR HEADS"

And his recently ordered, (personal/private) Storm Troopers, composed of paroled J6ers and all of their militia buddies, along with numerous ICE, Secret Service, National Guard, Border Patrol, and even US Military.....that will gleefully carry out anything/everything he orders them to do regardless of how criminal, sadistic, unconstitutional, or flat out PSYCHOTIC his orders are........

Moving Mar-a-Gago to the White House for his new fortress, he has already installed the huge outdoor deck replacing the rose garden, and planning a Massive Ballroom addition, the size of two football fields for his personal wealth grifting 5K a plate dinners etc. The roof of the new ballroom would also serve as a landing pad for Marine one so he and his CABAL don't have to walk across the lawn especially in winter weather or rainy weather.....complete with escalator so his stair tripping won't be exposed to media cameras......

Him kicking out this group, is probably him preparing for a tall stone wall around the entire White House perimeter, complete with manned guard towers and maybe even a "biggest ever" moat outside the wall with a drawbridge.......maybe with heated water so the transplanted alligators can survive the winter.....

He's too stupid to grasp policy, so turns into a hotel manager.

Witness his stupid destruction of the Rose Garden, and his hard on for a Ballroom.
