South Korea said Friday that it had expressed concern and regret to the U.S. Embassy over an immigration raid on a Hyundai facility in Georgia during which it said many South Korean nationals had been detained.
The economic activities of our companies investing in the U.S. and the rights and interests of our nationals must not be unfairly violated, said Lee Jae-woong, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry of the key U.S. ally, according to the Yonhap news agency.
Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as well as Homeland Security Investigations and other federal agencies were involved in the operation on Thursday, which an ICE spokesperson said was conducted in connection with an investigation into unlawful employment practices and other serious federal crimes.
Steven Schrank, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Georgia, told reporters on Thursday afternoon that the alleged unlawful practices were taking place at the multi-hundred acre construction site where South Korean companies Hyundai and LG Energy Solution are jointly building a new battery plant next to their manufacturing facility for electric vehicles.

Hyundai should close the plant.
Let the Trump voters in Georgia eat it.

Is this the same country that RAIDED a small record company, simply because they had hired another company to work on a concert tour...and an accidental death occurred when one of the workers slipped in the rain, and fell to his death? They were threatening the CEO with prison time, when he his only involvement was hiring the second company.
The SK police have terrified people to the point of suicide, because of their Gestapo-like actions.
Just last week, the SK police RAIDED a hospital for medical records (hey, who bothers with subpoenas?), because a pop star did telehealth sessions with his doctor, and sent his manager and other staff to pick up his prescriptions. Now, this pop star faces anywhere from 1-16 YEARS in prison.
Why? Because, for some meds, you have to do in-office visits, and the DOCTOR failed to tell his patient to do so. You also can't send anyone to pick up those meds (except very ill people, who can send immediate family or a caregiver), but the PHARMACY failed to tell multiple people that they couldn't pick up meds for someone else.
That's right. This pop star has been caught up in a web of other people's incompetence, yet HE was taken to jail, while the pharmacy staff walk free.
I'm not going to name names or give any other details, because the international media is distorting the facts, and his good name has been dragged through the mud long enough.
But I will say this: SK has a very high suicide rate for a reason. Petty "crimes" are prosecuted like crimes against humanity, while sexual assault crimes get a slap on the wrist.
While I'm adamantly against what Cheetolini is doing, it's revolting for South Korea to complain about raids, when they do the EXACT same thing to their own legal citizens.

I just had another thought: please make this info into an OP of its own. Especially if you have any links to news stories.
