'Queen of Canada' arrested on livestream after RCMP deploy to village where cult has lived for 2 years

Source: Radio Canada International

RCMP officers have arrested Romana Didulo, the leader of a cult that has been living in a Saskatchewan village for two years, according to a livestream posted by Didulo on Wednesday morning.

The video, shared to Didulo's followers on Telegram at 5:51 a.m. CST on Wednesday, shows two officers wearing tactical gear burst into a room where Didulo is standing.

"Leave the phone down. You're under arrest," one officers says.

Didulo surrenders to officers and the camera is pointed at the floor for a few minutes. Voices off camera then remark that the phone is livestreaming before the video ends.

She's been a known nut for years who has disrupted a Saskatchewan community for a couple of years by the domineering presence of her cult following.

I guess cult-leader may have appeared to be her best career option?

... How can otherwise reasonably smart people fall for that shit?

The YouTube videos of traffic stops of sovereign citizens are truly weird sometimes amusing but very sad to see how far they have fallen into this cult.

From the article: "The cult began as part of the larger Q-Anon movement — which believes there is a secret cabal running the government — and has now evolved into a sovereign citizen movement, Sarteschi said. "

Canada has never been keen on disinformation, which is how they've mostly kept Murdoch out. They would also dislike the idea of some gal carving out her own kingdom (queendom?) from Canadian territory.

I have a feeling Her Highness is going to spend a long time in a nice hospital taking lots of pretty colored pills and having unpleasant talks with people in white coats until she feels better.

Romana Didulo (/roʊˈmɑːnə dɪˈduːloʊ/ roh-MAH-nuh dih-DOO-loh, /rə-/ ruh-'; born November 1974) is a Canadian conspiracy theorist. She is one of the most prominent figures of the QAnon movement in Canada and promotes other conspiracy theories such as the pseudolegal concepts derived from the sovereign citizen movement. Didulo came to prominence as a pretender who proclaimed herself to be the "Queen of Canada", and later, "Queen of the World". She has a group of followers that travel with her, resulting in confrontations with local residents

I came across a piece about her on The Tyee (which is pretty cool and has one environmental columnist whose work is really good: Andrew Nikiforuk):

‘Queen of Canada’ tours the country

Didulo tours Canada in a recreational vehicle, accompanied by an entourage. They hold “meet and greets” where she speaks formally. These are recorded and posted on multiple channels on QAnon conspiracy theories, pseudo-legal sovereign-citizen beliefs and new age spirituality.

She tells her followers of her supernatural abilities. She claims she can become invisible by “cloaking” herself. This power is not unusual for beings of her race, she says. She is not of this Earth. She is a member of a highly advanced, alien race — an Arcturian, an alien being with special celestial powers.

I find people this crazy hard to assess serious as social threats go. I could never really process Qanon. With a population of 8 billion people, even with a small % of crazies it’s going to be a lot of people.

I get your average sleazy profiteer or corrupt creep or pro deregulation industrial types better.

My home is in the Global South and there a lot of poorer, less educated people I come across who casually hold views that are pretty “crazy” from a Western standpoint. I personally get impatient with them and societal inertia wrt change but it’s mostly just a sign of poor education and exposure more than mental illness or cultishness. Cluelessness. Otoh that’s more the inertia of progress than outright resistance to progress.
Sometimes I get a little impatient. Otoh it’s not really my job or thing to tell other people what to think and do. I am not an educator and I have clear views and compartments since as DUer TrollBuster said auto-didact disease is the curse of the times.

If people want to be that way in their spaces whatever. But in my space I won’t have policies or laws formulated such that all views are considered equal including Intelligent Design, Creationism, mysticism, magic, puranas etc. They aren’t real. You stay in your lane and I stay in mine. But just because I am godless and pro real science and that’s a minority view these days, doesn’t mean I don’t want a say.

Send her back to the Philippines after she does time in jail.
They need to put that fool (Rick Manz) who owns the property they've been on in jail, too. Last I checked assaulting an officer is a jailable offense.
If I lived in that community, I'd be organizing to chase the remnants of that asylum out of town.Something to be said for "Run 'em out on a rail"
