CDC Turmoil: White House Reportedly Taps New Director Amid Staffer Walkout

The White House selected Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary Jim ONeill as the next acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to The Washington Post, tapping the technology investor for the role as former CDC leadership protested against the Trump administration and its contested firing of ex-CDC Director Susan Monarez.

ONeill has been tapped to take over as the acting director of the CDC, the Post reported, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the decision who said ONeill would maintain his role as HHS deputy secretary.

We will have to have a full blown epidemic for enough people to wake up IMHO.
And of course I or any sane person does not want that.
People woke up a few years back when thousands died of Covid and got vaccinated!
I do not understand how so many can have such short memories of all those deaths!!

Three senior CDC officials who resigned from their positions during a tumultuous week at the health agency were cheered by staff and supporters after being escorted out of the global headquarters in Atlanta on Thursday.
