Trump claims he knows 'more about grass than any human being' in another bizarre rant

Source: indy100.com

Brydie Monaghan 49m

Donald Trump's talking about grass... AGAIN.

This time during a photo op with National Guard troops, the president boasted he knows “more about grass than any human being” while talking about beautifying the nation.

“ I have a lot of golf courses all over the place. I know more about grass than any human being, I think, anywhere in the world. And we're gonna be re-grassing all of your parks, all brand new sprinkler systems, the best that you can buy,” Trump said.

Last week, Trump announced he was placing D.C. police under direct federal control and deployed 800 National Guard troops to the city despite crime rates declining in recent years....................

🚨WTF: In a bizarre moment, Trump rants about grass at DC parks: “I know more about grass than any human being… Grass has a life. We have a life, and grass has a life. The grass here died about 40 years ago.”

Has Trump’s completely lost his mind?

Where's the coverage on his cognitive decline?

Donald Trump went on a lengthy rant about grass on Thursday before he was set to join the police in Washington, D.C. for a ride along.

Trump said that his administration is set to re-do the parks in Washington, D.C. and would specifically focus on the grass, adding he hopes it will look like Trump National Golf Club. Trump said that grass "has a life" and stated that the grass in Washington, D.C. died "40 years ago".

for lawn care … is irrigation. Krasnov is just out to lunch. Besides public parks and landscape/ecological restoration projects have worked for years not to use irrigation. It is expensive, wasteful, and not good for the environment. But as far as public areas in and around D.C. turf does serve a purpose but its management does not need Trump’s input.

The Devastating Environmental Cost of Traditional Lawns

Aeliyra Kendall
January 30, 2023

Your lawn may seem like a small part of your home, but did you know that they have a significant environmental cost? Traditional lawns are composed of non-native grasses and plants that are not adapted to the region. They often require more water, fertilizers, and pesticides than lawns that use native grass and plants.

Traditional Landscaping Introduces Invasive Plants

Invasive plants are non-native plant species that have been introduced to an area and have the ability to outcompete native plants. They can often spread quickly and displace native plant populations. Traditional lawns are often composed of these non-native grasses that are invasive in nature. Which often requires the use of pesticides and fertilizers to maintain, which can lead to the spread of invasive plants.

Use of Harmful Pesticides And Fertilizer

The use of pesticides and fertilizers in lawn maintenance has a negative impact on the environment and human health. Pesticides harm local wildlife and contaminate local water resources. Fertilizers will lead to nutrient runoff, which harms aquatic life and contributes to the growth of harmful algae. Native landscaping will sustain itself and require less intervention to thrive.

It’s a Waste Of Water

While traditional lawns may appear lush and green, the maintenance required to keep them that way can put a strain on local water resources. In fact, traditional lawns consume more water than native landscapes, often requiring more frequent watering and leading to water waste. On the other hand, native landscapes are specially adapted to the unique climate and soil conditions of an area, making them much more water-efficient and less reliant on constant irrigation.

A Lack Important Biodiversity

Traditional lawns are often monocultures, meaning they consist of only one species of grass. This lack of diversity can have a detrimental impact on local biodiversity. A single species of grass does not provide food or shelter for a wide range of species, which in turn can lead to a decline in local wildlife populations. In contrast, native landscapes provide important habitats for local wildlife and support the overall biodiversity of a region.

Adding To Your Carbon Footprint

Traditional landscaping has a higher carbon footprint than native landscapes. The maintenance of traditional lawns requires the use of lawn equipment, such as lawn mowers, edgers, and trimmers, which can contribute to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The use of these machines not only produces emissions but also consumes fossil fuels, which are a limited and non-renewable resource.

I am an expert in this stuff and there is no such thing as re-grassing it is called lawn
or turf care or reseeding or over seeding or installing sod. Parks, businesses, schools,
and homes all over America have been doing just that for years.

In parks where you have areas where the turf is thin which in most cases is from foot
traffic or lack of organic matter in the soil starting shortly the steps to repair the damaged
turf is:

Spread organic matter and top soil

Spread grass seed

Cover with straw or Penn Mulch

Use the appropriate grass seed mix.

Make sure the areas are watered

they are not called sprinklers in the trades but irrigation systems you also try to install types of grass
that do not need irrigation especially in public areas. It is a waste, open to damage, and not good for
the environment. If he knew a scintilla about turf grass he would know that you never drive your
