Don Bacon (NE-R), troubled by Trump's treatment of Putin, says it may be time for 'hardball' with White House

U.S. Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska said in a call with reporters Monday that the demands Russia has presented to Ukraine to end their war are unacceptable and that it’s time for President Donald Trump to treat Russia as an imperialistic aggressor and see that Ukraine is “the victim that has been invaded.”

He applauded the president for trying to get the two sides together, but also said he’s prepared to push a bill to sanction Russia if he feels the president is pushing Ukraine into a bad deal.

“There’s a right and wrong, and we are the leader of the free world, and we should stand by the nation that wants freedom, wants free markets, wants rule of law. And clearly, Russia does not,” Bacon said.

Bacon, a retired Air Force brigadier general, said not much came of Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday in Alaska, but he’d rather see no deal than a bad deal.

Trump is a spinless orange ball of jelly. He'll never stand up to his puppet master. He's probably taking notes how to attack countries he wants to collect and turn into new states.

when you are so slow on the uptake? Thanks to the leader of your party, AKA putin's puppet, the US is no longer the "leader of the free world". Our former allies are horrified, and you just now notice that maybe he is being too nice to ruzzia?

Still, better late than never. . .or did your constituents finally get through to you?

If Trump's treatment of Putin and Ukraine is his first complaint about Trump, then he's still way deep into the Trump Humper camp.
His voting record fully supports this.

is he just now speaking out? He should have spoken out when he ran the second time. Guess he was afraid to for fear of losing his seat in congress. When will republicans grow a spine.
