Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell has offered to testify before Congress, but with major conditions, including immunity, according to a list of her demands sent to the House Oversight Committee by her attorneys. House Oversight Chair James Comer subpoenaed Maxwell to testify next month.
In a new letter sent to Comer Tuesday, Maxwells attorneys said they initially decided to invoke her Fifth Amendment rights, but then offered to cooperate with Congress if a fair and safe path forward can be established. Her attorneys noted Maxwell is currently appealing her conviction to the Supreme Court and argued that any testimony she provides now could compromise her constitutional rights, prejudice her legal claims, and potentially taint a future jury pool.
Compounding these concerns are public comments from members of Congress that appear to have prejudged Ms. Maxwells credibility without even listening to what she has to say or evaluating the extensive documentation that corroborates it, the letter states.
An Oversight Committee spokeswoman on Tuesday rejected the idea of giving Maxwell immunity. The Oversight Committee will respond to Ms. Maxwells attorney soon, but it will not consider granting congressional immunity for her testimony, the spokeswoman said.

The deal will be: She is pardoned and she will STFD and STFU about Trump and Epstein.
It WILL happen, no doubt about it.

Has Congress called the victims to testify?
Let's get all the filth those people perpetrated out in the sunlight.

(38,620 posts)She'll need to be anonymous for the rest of her life. I believe it would be possible to do because she lived off the grid for several years in the US, (various friends putting her up in their "spare" mansions, etc.) but she's too well-known now.
If Chump gets Maxwell to lie on his behalf, she'll get released. After that it's up to her.

(7,080 posts)It would be an extremely stupid thing to do (not that that would stop Trump). There is simply no upside in doing so. The MAGA folks who are upset with Trump's handling of the Epstein files already would go ballistic if Maxwell were pardoned.

(8,052 posts)in the sexual acts. By the sounds of it I think Blanche was sent in to feel out what kind of story needs to be fabricated and what kind of "documents" created in order to give a scenario where it is made to look as though Maxwell was "misled" by Epstein and therefore they will claim she should be pardoned.

(7,080 posts)As far as I know, only 2 congressmembers were included in Epstein's little black book, and no others have ever even been mentioned. Only former Senator George Mitchell & former Representative and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
Epstein's biggest clients were more likely to be the people who buy the politicians rather than politicians themselves.
Republicans are trying to protect Trump and maybe some of their big donors, NOT themselves.

(9,040 posts)Look, this person is a convicted menace to society. She was tried and convicted.
These attempts to remove her from her debt to society is what is not 'fair and safe'.
So, can the bullshit, Consul. You are trying to finagle a way for her to get out of her debt.
Just put her in the chair and let her speak. Let her know that, should she cooperate fully, we might... might... think about a transfer.
Also, make sure that she understands that her days are numbered thanks to her position in this mess, so she might consider just how long she has left under this administration. She helps take it down, she can be relatively safe. If she doesn't...?
No promises. (I am not saying that she is in danger from us, I am saying that those rethugs are going to make sure she cannot speak at all if she decides to play too many games.)
