White House Launches Its Own Drudge Report, Prompting Slap Back From Drudge

Source: MEDIAite

The Trump administration launched its own version of the Drudge Report on Wednesday under the name, “The White House Wire.” “The White House has its own wire now. Read what we’re reading,” announced the White House in a social media post, directing followers to a Drudge Report-style page with headlines and links to various news outlets, including Breitbart, Fox News, the Daily Caller, the New York Post, the Washington Times, the Washington Examiner, Newsweek, Axios, The Guardian, and The Hill.

The Drudge Report – a former ally-turned-critic of President Donald Trump – responded to the White House Wire’s launch with its own series of headlines.

“IT TAKES AN ENTIRE WEST WING TO COMPETE WITH DRUDGE…” wrote the Drudge Report. “DEVELOPING: TRUMP LAUNCHING HIS OWN DRUDGE REPORT… USING TAXPAYER DOLLARS!”

The Drudge Report

In a statement to Status News’ Oliver Darcy, Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge said, “I’m considering a $1 trillion lawsuit!”

I used to go to Drudge's site mainly because it had links to most of the M$M websites (including both left and right persuasions), so it was good as a portal. Then I found DU's "portal" with links to all kinds of liberal news/blog sites that the guys used to have on the DU main page (although that was too much to maintain because many of those sites either shut down or weren't updated, so that is why the feature went away).

Drudge only occasionally "wrote a feature story" as it is, but his plain, mid-1990s-style site, seems to still be chugging along.

I found DU from Free Republic. They had a Will Pitt article from DU and I was hooked. Truly a life changing event.

Only THEY can define the "First Amendment".

The First Amendment was probably one of ACLU's primary focuses and they will be very busy.

He's a vile pig. Not his lifestyle but the fact that he supports repukes. Spreads many proven lies about Democrats. Hypocritical ass-wipe.

It's been interesting to see which ones went in that direction during/after 45's first term.

The one thing they all do though, is still try to keep their "GOP cred" and will trash Dems when they can.
