Congressman Shri Thanedar Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against President Donald J. Trump for High Crimes and Misde

Source: Congressman's Shri Thanedar Website

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, citing a sweeping abuse of power, flagrant violations of the Constitution, and acts of tyranny that undermine American democracy and threaten the rule of law.

"Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy," said Rep. Thanedar. "His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act."

The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations:

1. Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power: Including denial of due process, unlawful deportations, defiance of court orders, and misuse of the Department of Justice.
2. Usurpation of Appropriations Power: For dismantling congressionally established agencies and impounding federal funds.
3. Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression: Including imposing economically damaging tariffs and threatening military invasion against sovereign nations.
4. Violation of First Amendment Rights: Through retaliatory actions against critics, media, and attorneys exercising constitutionally protected speech.
5. Creation of an Unlawful Office: By establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) and unlawfully empowering Elon Musk to unilaterally violate the Constitution.
6. Bribery and Corruption: Involving dismissing criminal cases, soliciting foreign emoluments, and extortionate settlements for personal and political gain.
7. Tyrannical Overreach: Seeking to consolidate unchecked power, erode civil liberties, and defy constitutional limits on presidential authority.

…whereupon Speaker Moses tossed them in the circular file by refusing to bring them up for a vote.

Just as he will with these.

The fact is, while the House remains in Republican hands, any such impeachment moves are merely theater. Necessary theater, maybe; but fated to quickly disappear once the press conference is over.

And those same individuals wholly despise the orange shit-gibbon.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not holding my breath.

These ARE unprecedented times.

On occasion we see beneficially unprecedented as well.
The machinations of fascist power are abjectly depraved, hence likely to do whatever they perceive as enlarging THEIR power as they strive to become the next "Dear Leader".

Fascists are ouroboros.
They ultimately self consume.

Here's to the restoration of our freedoms through our fight for the return of reason's rule!!!

in the House, and the Senate to do it..........One morning the House Impeaches him, that afternoon Senate votes to do it.

Then there is the matter of JDVance and the rest of the appointees/musk/CABAL to contend with.............Once they all see it, they will really gang up and circle the wagons. Hopefully, at least it takes Putin somewhat out of running the White House....

Good fantasy..............

let's see if any GOP get on board. Dude is already a twice impeached convicted felon.

I'm also curious to find out what punishment they have in store for Congressman Thanedar, who is an immigrant from India. That Detroit district is like 80% Dem. Our voters will likely reelect him.

His seat was formerly held by John Conyers for decades, and many of the constituents would like to see a Black representative in that district given that Detroit is a majority Black city.

Thank you Shri and Michigan for leading the charge against fascism!

And yes, repukes do control the House, BUT the town halls are flooded with angry constituents, ICE has gone rogue while the border has turned into a shit show, the stock market has tanked, eggs are just as expensive as ever, the crops aren't getting picked, restaurants are shutting down left and right, the Ukraine and Palestinian wars are still going, Elon has nuked extremely promising cancer and autism research, we're all about to get a new tax due to the tariffs, and a new pandemic is due to roll out any time.

Are repukes dumb enough to want tsf as their leader in these times? Maybe, but maybe they will have to embrace sanity (aka DEMOCRACY) in order to SURVIVE.

I am still quite unclear as to how this "man" has escaped a prison sentence. I'm thrilled that there are those in Congress who want to impeach him. But JD Vance is no better. None of them are. The only decent people affiliated with what is loosely called the "republican party" are GONE. How do you begin to purge the absolute awfulness that remains?

and could well be the basis for actual impeachment when Trump's actions become so blatantly destructive to the country that not even Republican in Congress can continue ignore them.

He won’t need them in the future. Someone should remind them of that. A dictator has no need of a legislature or a judiciary, since he will make all the decisions or have an underIing do it
